South Korea Addendum

If you are a resident of South Korea, the following South Korea-specific provisions apply to our processing of your personal information in lieu of the relevant sections of the Global Privacy Policy:

  • With your consent, ManpowerGroup will collect and use the personal information described below in addition to the information described in the Global Privacy Policy.

    • Personal information collected for a membership subscription.

      • Essential items: Name, date of birth, identity verification information or verification for duplicated subscription information (DI), gender, username, password, address, telephone number, email, whether you are applying for positions requiring prior experience or no experience, whether you are interested in part-time positions, user keyword, educational background, IP address, information collected through cookies, MAC address, date & time of visit, records of service use and records of malicious use.

    • Personal information collected when a user is employed as an associate.

      • Essential items: Resident registration number (or alien registration number, in the case of a foreigner).

    • Personal information collected to process your resume.

      • Essential items: Current employment status, marital status, entitlement to veterans’ benefits, disability, military service information, entitlement to employment promotion subsidy, form of employment, desired annual salary, desired place of work, desired location of work, desired business/job type, desired form of employment, keyword, educational background (e.g., information on high school, college, graduate degrees, etc.).

      • Optional items: Hours available to be contacted, start day, family information, educational background, work experience, skills, certified qualifications, foreign language skills, OA skills, photo, study and training experience, information on qualification certificates, foreign language skills, overseas study experience, entitlement to veterans’ benefits and military service information.

    • Purpose of collection and use.

      • Enroll and manage members: To verify your intent to join as a member and to search for a job; to verify and authenticate your identity to provide members-only services; to maintain and manage your membership; to prevent illegal use of services; to provide any and all notices; and to handle complaints, inquiries and other requests or comments.

      • Provide members-only job search service: To implement the recruiting process according to your job search requirements; to provide relevant contents; to provide information on prospective employers; and to send relevant documents to prospective employers.

      • Communicate with you about and support your job search.

      • Analyze employment and job search trends.

    • Period of retention. We will not retain your personal information for any longer than is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. However, your personal information will be retained for a minimum period stipulated by the relevant laws including the Korean Commercial Code to, among other things, identify the rights and obligations related to commercial transactions, as listed below:

      • Records on contract or subscription withdrawal: 5 years (the Act on the Consumer Protection in the Electronic Commerce Transactions, Etc.)

      • Records on payment settlement and provision of goods: 5 years (the Act on the Consumer Protection in the Electronic Commerce Transactions, Etc.)

      • Records on handling consumer complaints or conflicts: 3 years (the Act on the Consumer Protection in the Electronic Commerce Transactions, Etc.)

      • Records on website visit: 3 months (the Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

  • With your consent, we may disclose your personal information to third parties (i.e., prospective employers). In these circumstances, given the nature of our job search services, it will be practically difficult for us to specify the recipients of your personal information and obtain your consent for such disclosures in advance. Accordingly, by consenting to our collection and processing of your personal information, you also consent to the foregoing and, even if the recipient is not specified, the effect of your consent extends to ManpowerGroup’s provision of your personal information to prospective employers desiring to recruit employees solely for the above purposes. The recipient list is updated from time to time, but there may be times when such updates are delayed due to extenuating circumstances. In addition, we may not disclose the recipient’s identity if requested by the recipient or where such disclosure is not feasible due to the particular nature of the recipient’s business.

  • If you are under 14 years of age, your legal representative may exercise your rights according to the “Your Rights and Choices” section of the Global Privacy Policy.

  • If you have any questions or comments about the Global Privacy Policy or this Addendum or would like us to update information we have about you or your preferences, please contact us as provided in the Global Privacy Policy.
