Creating Value Through Mergers And Acquisitions: An Executive Research Summary
For this global research project, Right Management surveyed and/or interviewed executives at 156 companies in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific to get fresh perspectives on critical issues associated with mergers and acquisitions. This study is a follow-up to Right’s widely used 1999 study, Lessons Learned from Mergers and Acquisitions: Best Practices in Workforce Integration. The new research deals with a range of topics, including the relation between critical business outcomes of a merger—cost savings, value creation, and growth—and the management of human resource issues such as cultural integration, change management, and communications.
The survey results—combined with statistical analysis, comments from those interviewed, and the collective experience of Right’s M&A consultants—produced seven key research findings, which are featured in the twenty-page report, along with professional observations and recommendations for effective integration.
