Business Challenge: How do we position for the future?
A major NZ city council faced some significant challenges and needed to change to effectively meet these. An increased demand for services, costs rising faster than the rate of inflation and the City population getting older required a consulting partner to scope and design a full-scale change programme that would enable the organisation to position itself for future challenges.
Working closely with the CEO and COO, Right Management used its Organisational Effectiveness Framework to drive exploratory discussions and identify critical issues as they related to strategy, structure, systems and processes, culture and leadership. Using these as the pillars of change, Right Management developed a comprehensive 5 year strategic change plan that is currently being implemented. The plan is designed to engage employees with the purpose, values, strategy and goals to create pride and passion. As part of the approach, we also worked with the executive team to confirm their role purpose, accountabilities and behaviours required on a daily basis to ensure organisational success.
