Business Challenge: How do we develop effective leadership in a time of significant growth and change?
A large Australian International construction firm had a critical need to develop leadership capacity and build greater organisational effectiveness during a period of significant accelerated growth in its project portfolio and workforce.
Using our expertise in building organisational leadership capability and leadership development solutions, Right Management has worked with the client to develop three tiers of leadership programs to meet their needs.
The programs were developed in conjunction with the senior OD Manager who acted as the internal champion and was supported by CEO and Executive staff.
The specific programs emphasised an agreed set of leadership principles and tools designed for front line, middle and senior management which provided a consistent leadership language and systems across the three levels of leadership. The programs include a critical engagement between participants and senior leaders on current leadership and organisational challenges.
Now in its sixth year of delivery, there have been over forty leadership programs delivered across Australia and New Zealand in 2009. These are continuously evolving, reviewed and updated annually to keep abreast of business and organisational changes. There has been a significant shift in the leadership culture of the organisation to a values-based leadership approach and the 2008 Employee Survey reported leadership development as an organisational strength.
