Recently, the company purchased SlideShare, and although professionals had the option before to include their SlideShare presentations in their LinkedIn profiles, they now occupy a more prominent place. Since LinkedIn is now focused on the visual aspect of a professional’s profile, savvy job seekers can use that to their advantage by leveraging visual content. On your LinkedIn profile, you are allowed to link to video, documents, and presentations in the Summary section and for each job title.
When creating your visual resume, use the CCAR Writing Model outlined below:
- Challenge: Describe a specific problem or goal.
- Context: Talk about how you tackled the challenge described.
- Action: Describe the specific actions you took to resolve the challenge described.
- Result: Give specific examples of the results of your actions in addressing the challenge described, and how they contributed to the company’s bottom-line. These accomplishments demonstrate the quality and effectiveness of your leadership skills.
